Logan's Birthday

Logan just turned 5 and he decided that he wanted a birthday party this year.So since Robert and I had not given him a party in a couple of years we decided it was about time that we tried to throw him a nice but low budget party.Usually every year we take Logan to IHOP for breakfast on his birthday and give him his present just the three of us (which we always love it being just the three of us) but since we were having the party and we were going to be unable to invite all of our family members that we would open the invitation to everyone. Logan really enjoyed that because his "aunt Robin and her boyfriend Jason as well has his "BG" (grandma Louise) where there. Logan spent most of the breakfast coloring his paper place mat with Robin. Then Robert, Logan , Bell and I spent the rest of the day together at home because the Childress family function that usually takes place Christmas eve night had been cancelled due to the death of Robert cousin. Then came the fun part trying to get the party ready!!! After work Friday evening Robin and I ran all over town getting the refreshment for the party. Logan had already picked out his cups, plates and napkins so all I had to do was find spoons forks and a birthday banner. Robin volunteered herself to pick up the balloons the next morning so that I could go home and clean and bake the birthday cake sometime I wonder what i would ever do with out Robin always bailing me out of tight spots :) Baking the cake was interesting all in itself the cake took all night. I broke the cake Had to call Grandma Peggy in Texas to talk me threw how to pull off this Land Before Time cake that I just knew I could do all by myself (yea right) Finally after the cake broke in half and one big what looked to be a big brown poop blob I was able to pull it all together with a lot of tips from Grandma Peggy. The cake turned out wonderful and Logan was none the wiser that I was up all night trying to fix it. The party turned out to be a wonderful adventure that Logan really enjoyed. Finally everyone left the mess was cleaned up and apparently our son did not realize that all parties must end because he looked up at Me and said " why did everybody leave?" and when i said "well that's what you are supposed to do you go to the party eat cake, ice cream and chip and then leave" Logan quickly responded " Its not nice to just eat food and leave"

Above is a picture of Logan's cake and yes next year I will pay for his cake
